Macrocarpa is a medium density wood, that will burn well giving you a good steady heat. It splits and ignites well so is good for kindling. It does spark so not recommended for an open fire. Macrocarpa supplied in New Zealand is grown within New Zealand as an exotic tree. The timber comes from either a forested plantation source, or farm shelterbelts.
