Macrocarpa is a medium density wood, that will burn well giving you a good steady heat, and pleasant aroma.  It splits and ignites well, please note- Mac does spark so it's not recommended for an open fire. Macrocarpa supplied in New Zealand is grown within New Zealand, the timber comes from either a forested plantation source, or farm shelterbelts

Gum is a hot, slow and very clean burning wood. Sourced from local farms and windrows primarily. Providing great overnight burning.
